there are over 700 types of lichen found in iceland. well over half of the identified species are part of the crustose category, meaning that they resemble a crust on top of the materials they grow on. this layer of growing life can be subtle in its appearance, but it is an important part of the local ecosystems. these socks have a similarly subtle appearance and texture, but they will become a fast favourite in your handmade wardrobe thanks to their ability to suit any outfit.
