handmade wardrobe: outfits for one spring day
it's less than two weeks until my birthday and the big shop update/yarn price increase! 🎂 today i’m taking you through how to style your slow fashion makes through a whole spring day of events:
morning
start the day with a slow morning wake-up with emerald erin’s black beauty bra (modified with a wider bridge) and cedar cardigan knit with roots.
change to a flannel merchant & mills' dress shirt (which is basically secret pyjamas) and toss on a heavy shawl (this is the upcoming embers shawl pattern for everyday magic volume viii knit with pasture dk) to keep you warm while you check on plant bbs 🌱
afternoon
pull your cedar cardigan back on and pair it with your 14-year-old pashmina from a street merchant from that high school new york trip - comfy is the name of the game while you do computer work! #WFH, am i right?
keep your secret pyjamas on while you half-heartedly tackle your mending pile...yea, yea, mending is integral to slow fashion even if it is INCREDIBLY annoying.
swap to an elbe textiles' cornell shirt (lengthened to a dress and obviously eschewing sleeves because why) layered under your dad's vintage wool-lined levi’s jacket from the '70s and paired with another heavy shawl (faodail from cwtch knit with pasture dk), rockweed handshoes, sandhill sling from noodlehead (decorated with a willow pin and bilingual pronoun pin from the quilt bag), and rain boots to take the dog for an afternoon walk
evening
get ready for date night by belting your cornell, pulling on your daydreamer sweater (fancy because of the cables and because you paired the most ethereal shade of roots with equally ethereal mohair), doing your make-up, and before you skip out the door grabbing your n95 or kn95 mask because SURPRISE covid isn't actually over no matter what capitalism and economic branches of the government want you to think 😷
some final willow bloopers for you to enjoy - photoshoots with puppers (planned or otherwise) always get a little more interesting…
