homemade holidays 2022
this year’s homemade holidays featured new wardrobe additions, fabric scrap cushion covers, a whole tree’s worth of ornaments featuring naturally dyed silks and wood, and batch herbal gifts.

i love using holidays as an excuse for new lingerie! i sewed a candy cane set with my favourite bra and undies patterns as an elastic scrap-busting project.
a cushion cover made using wardrobe project scraps, cotton and joy’s shimmer quilt block and my diy cushion cover tutorial, available in the sanctuary hub.

after winding skeins of naturally dyed silk embroidery thread for the shop, i used the short ends to make several ornaments.
i took my very first stained glass class this holiday season and was pleasantly surprised with my results! they got slipped onto naturally dyed silk ribbon and joined hand stitched and naturally dyed ornaments made with wood, silk embroidery thread, and fabric scraps.
metallic essex linen got turned into my first (of many!) zadie jumpsuits. it’s the perfect pattern! and the sparkle in this fabric makes the outfit go from secret pyjamas to fancy holiday secret pyjamas.
