travelling shoes: edmonton & fern's school of craft
i finally got around to editing all my photos from my trip to edmonton a couple of weeks ago. i had a great time at fern’s school of craft with three wonderful batches of students, and i also got to catch up with the alberta yarn project team for an upcoming interview (part of this year’s forage collection!). i’m currently planning my next trip to alberta for more interviews and a visit to calgary, so if you’re out in that area and want to catch up and/or host a workshop while i’m there in the first half of july, give me a shout.
as seems to be par for the course these days, my trip was short and packed with stuff to do. i didn’t really have downtime while i was out there, but it was a fun and productive trip for the most part. the one shitty thing was that i got word of a friend passing unexpectedly the morning i was getting ready to leave. i’ve established the crush scholarship in her memory, which you can learn more about here.
fern’s got a beautiful space in downtown edmonton and runs a whole host of workshops, so if you’re in the area and haven’t checked out her schedule yet, i definitely recommend it. fern is an incredible weaver herself and i’m always super jealous of the projects her students pull off their looms.
